The t-shirt printing method uses an inkjet head that transfers an image or color image onto the garment in either a direct or indirect method. Indirect ink transfer utilizes particles of pigmented material that are propelled through a jet nozzle at very high speed, depositing their image directly onto the garment. Direct transfer utilizes a different kind of inks; here, pigment is deposited directly to the surface of the t-shirt through a tube-like mechanism.

A special type of sublimation printing, also known as UV technology, utilizes ultraviolet light to transfer colors and images onto fabric. The garment is placed inside a chamber with a light-generating source, which passes fluorescent dye molecules through the fabric onto the t-shirt. As the light emits photons, the dyes react with the phosphors in the fabric. The resulting color is formed using the excitation of electrons in the dyes using the electric discharge technique.
